Before taking the LSAT, I read a lot of books on logic games. Each book had its own approach, and most had something that made the book worth my time. But The PowerScore LSAT Logic Games Bible was by far the most effective logic games book I came across. I have found no better foundation for the LSAT games than this book.

### Game Set-up and Diagramming

Diagrams are the most important factor when it comes to how quickly and accurately a student can complete logic games; poor set-ups will cripple a student on the LSAT. This is the main problem that I have with some LSAT books and companies; students are too often taught to use sub-par diagrams and ambiguous logical notation. Those same students will often struggle later, despite following every method given to them. This is unacceptable.
Thankfully PowerScore’s approach to diagramming is solid. Killoran uses an easy, intuitive form of logical notation, and his diagrams are both easy to set up and easy to use. Beginners who learn this method will we stunned at how much easier the logic games become.

Killoran does a great job of teaching students how to use his notation as well. This is important; a good method is useless to students unless they can learn it. The Logic Games Bible shines here. Killoran frequently provides visually illustrations for clarity and individual notation drills are provided to help students get used to using notation before ever having to approach a logic game. The book will take you step-by-step through the learning process, covering each point thoroughly without belaboring anything.
If you are a new student, you need this book just for the diagramming. I am not exaggerating when I say that you will see a noticeable jump in your score just after working through this portion of the book.

### Strategy

The first and last chapters of the book discuss general logic game strategy. This may be the most generic portion of the book; many other books offer similar advice. Killoran does explain himself well though, and the advice is good. If you have never read about LSAT strategy before, these portions of the book will informative.
I do appreciate the thoroughness of the Killoran’s logic game strategy. He understands the mistakes that students frequently make, and he addresses those potential problems upfront. Though the information can be found in other books as well, I do not think I have seen any other book present the material as well as Killoran does.

### Game Introduction

The PowerScore LSAT Logic Games Bible breaks down the LSAT games into the following categories:

• linear games
• grouping games
• grouping/linear combination games
• pattern games
• pure sequencing games
• circular linearity games
• mapping games

Killoran spends the majority of his book on the first four categories (linear, advance linear, grouping, and combination games). This is appropriate; the overwhelming majority of LSAT games fall into those categories. In fact, many analytical reasoning sections only contain those types of games.

The other games are covered well though. I especially appreciate his coverage of pattern games. In June 2014, students were stunned to see a pattern game pop up at the very end of the games section. Many hadn’t prepared for that, but those who used the Logic Games Bible had seen similar material before.

The portion of the book covers numerical distribution and limited solution sets. These are both powerful tools for LSAT students and (unfortunately) tools that some prep books overlook. Learning the techniques presented here will transform seemingly impossible questions into free points on your LSAT.

The one big critique that I have of this book is that this chapter is entitled “Advance Features and Techniques.” Some students may get the impression that the tools taught here are somehow only for advanced students or that not everyone needs to use this material. I want to be clear: You need to learn these techniques. There is nothing optional about it if you desire to have the kind of LSAT score top law schools love.

Killoran does a great job of explaining these techniques. Both portions of this chapter contain plenty of practice materials, visual guides, and detail explanations. Those students that take the time to work through this chapter are rewarded; just be sure that you are one of them.

### Practice Games

The LSAT Logic Games Bible uses a lot of real LSAT logic games for students to practice with. I found this to be very useful as a student. I knew the techniques were working because I could try them out on real LSAT games. And nothing beats official games when it comes to drilling as a beginner. You need to get used to the LSAT’s style; thankfully this book helps with that.

### Conclusion

I cannot recommend this book enough. If you just beginning your LSAT journey or if you are looking for the right book to improve your logic games score, you need the Logic Games Bible. It is by far the best LSAT study guide for logic games on the market.
